This unusual backpack performs well. The two small pouches on the hip belt have mesh instead of normal fabric - a potential weak spot as mesh is easy to be damaged.

I have not yet used the bag in immersion or hiking conditions. However, I closed it while it still had air in it and the air seemed to be trapped inside when I applied pressure to it. The waterproofing seems to be good.
The canvas of the bag seems robust. The frame on which the suspenders are fixed and metallic and the rigidity could be a hindrance on a long journey. But I remember that I have not yet used it for hiking.
Presence of a passage for the pipe of a hydration bag.
Two pockets present on the abdominal strap and possibility to adjust the height of the straps.
It's a certain amount to spend but the quality seems to be there. I believe that the only weak point is the zipper, which seems very robust all the same.

I have not yet used the bag in immersion or hiking conditions. However, I have closed it while it still contained air, and the air seemed to be well trapped inside when I applied pressure to it. So the waterproofing seems to be up to scratch.
The canvas of the bag seems sturdy. The frame to which the shoulder straps are attached is metal, and the rigidity could be a hindrance on a long trip. But remember that I haven't yet used it for hiking.
There's a passage for a hydration bag hose.
Two pockets on the abdominal strap and the possibility of adjusting the height of the shoulder straps.
It's quite a bit of money to spend, but the quality seems to be there. In my opinion, the only weak point is the zipper, which nevertheless seems quite sturdy.

I have bought the 35L backpack and used is right away for a hiking trip in Sweden. I'm very happy with the quality of the material and how the handling of the backpack (opening zip). Also the harness of the backpack is properly done and feels very comfortable on the back - I haven't noticed any discomfort while carrying the backpack.

This has turned out to be just as good a backpack as I thought it would be. I use it during swimming training (wet swim trunks, towel, equipment, wetsuit) it stays inside the backpack and does not get wet through the backpack. Or when cycling to work to protect clothes and laptops from rain.
The bag-like opening backpack helps both in the arrangement of the goods and in finding the desired goods easily when opening.
With the tightening straps, you can adjust the backpack according to when the stuff is packed, so that the equipment doesn't get loose.
The adjustments of the carrying system have been suitable for at least 165 cm.

Great waterproof backpack that is very versatile, can even use when hiking and trekking, and of course daily commuting And I usually carry a LOT of things, and the support system helped a lot. Much better than 99% of the waterproof backpacks out there.

On the first use, the mountain bike ride was found to be a very excellent backpack for cycling. Sits firmly on your back and the adjustments are great. When cycling in cramped conditions, the backpack needed washing and that too was easy to do due to the water resistance properties of the backpack. Shopping for a full ten :)

A good backpack for someone who likes to bustle outdoors. Sufficient adjustment resources, in addition, with the bracket kit purchased as an accessory, scrap can be caught on the outside of the backpack. The backpack contains four pockets for goods and one adjustable packing strap that goes across the entire backpack. Pros of waterproofing, zipper location and the ability to use a drinking bladder. On the downside, when rusting in the wet weather, the dirt that accumulates on the bottom of the backpack can be washed off, or they can be washed off with a shower or fenders, and the waist pockets can wear out quickly when the fabric looks delicate.

We recently took up mountain lake kayaking and needed a safe and dry way to transport our camera gear. After considerable research we settled on the Ortlieb Atrack 35l. The fit works well for both of us. One note on sizing. I was originally going to order the Ortlieb Atrack ST as I am 172cm and 65kg. Ortlieb's video showed a male model (170cm) with the Atrack 35l set to medium and since the ST adjusts from XS to M, I thought the Atrack ST would be a good choice. However, at the last minute, I opted for the Atrack 35l and I am glad that I did because I have it set to L in order to fit properly. Like all things, fit is very important and Ortlieb would be advised to disclose torso dimensions rather than overall height for their Pack sizing. Anyway, the Atrack 35l fits very well once adjusted. Our first impressions are very favorable and we have listed the pros and cons below. Pros 1. Durable and waterproof material. 2. Adjustable sizing to meet varying torso lengths. 3. Hydration system compatible (although you must use the Otlieb system to maintain waterproofness). 4. Optional accessory strap system adds versatility to the pack (ie poles, skis, etc.). 5. Easy access to all the contents due duffel style access. 6. Lots of internal storage pockets. 7. Excellent hip belts with storage pockets. 8. Comfortable shoulder straps with sternum strap. Cons 1. You must unlatch top and bottom to properly open the bag. 2. Some will find the zipper sticky (necessary to be waterproof). 3. Heavier than our go to hiking pack (Osprey Exos 38 weighs 1.1 kg). Ortlieb weighs in at 1.47 kg. The price you pay for a truly waterproof bag. 4. No top grab handle. Overall, we highly recommend this waterproof backpack!

Great backpack, saw it online for so long, and it is not available in my country. Love to get it and try it outside soon.. 1 thing I love to see in future, the hip belt be removable or optional, ( as the hip belt is extend to the lower back, if the backpack comes in 2 types of hip belt / lower back pad, that will be perfect...

Very good product.
"Made in Germany" qualities.
The back support is excellent, having already had an Ortlieb bag, they are the only ones to offer this type of product ...
The back closure is practical, you have to get used to it, but it's quite comfortable.
The VARUSTE site: Excellent, for their price and speed of delivery. TOP packaging

Now only once "in real use", waterproof, backpack. The 35l is just the right size for day trips, fits well with a break jacket and spare clothes. Definitely enough for an overnight trip too ... especially if you put certain items on straps outside.
No more need to be protected in the rain with a separate shelter!
Good four separate pockets inside the backpack.
Opens interestingly, easily accesses all items without having to empty the backpack.
The straps for closing the backpack still require a little practice.
I recommend!

This is an exceptionally good pack. I needed a pack that could carry a lot of heavy camera gear. I've never found a dedicated camera backpack that is comfortable enough. The Ortlieb Atrack 35L has an excellent harness system. It adjusts well to different torso lengths. The hip belt is comfortable and takes the load. I appreciate the simplicity of this pack. It has one large area for all your stuff, and you access it easily from the rear. I The four inner zippered pockets are useful for small items, but they won't take anything bulky because of the way the pack closes up tightly. Of course a huge benefit of this pack is that it's waterproof. I can lay it down on wet ground while I'm working, and I don't have to worry about rain or carrying a special rain cover. This is the pack I've been looking for. Highly recommended.
