Finding the right size is a bit challenging for a thick-necked dog, as the chest is easily slightly above the sternum in an M-size. However, the adjustment possibilities of the harness part of the backpack are excellent and considerably better than the average harness, so the backpack would still seem competent. There are plenty of different pockets and fastening options and the materials seem to be of high quality based on the first experiments.
The buckles on the leashes holding the backpack bags close to the sides are held between the harness and the sides of the dog. It remains to be seen whether this will be a problem with higher loads, but the solution seems special. In general, however, the possibility of removing the bags is good and the mechanism seems otherwise appropriate.

There are good adjustment possibilities, it fits neatly on the dog's back when he gets all the adjustments in place. Removing and attaching the backpack to the harness is a bit challenging, especially when the backpack is on the dog’s back. There could be some improvement on this.

The backpack sits well on the Irish Setter. The dog will be happy to put on the harness. A separate backpack / harness is a handy solution. The work is good and the solutions seem to work. A special plus is that the side pockets of the backpack are adjustable to smaller as the dog eats away his food during the hike.
About a year ago I ordered Palisades M-size my dog and I've been really happy with the product. The harness is easy to adjust and the backpack attaches smoothly. During the break, it is convenient to remove the backpack. There was initially a search for the weight distribution of the backpack part, during the movement the backpack started to flow more to the side where there was more weight, but this is, in my opinion, a relevant fine-tuning.
