Sturdy overalls and good on the feet, but the film is unhelpfully bad compared to the GoreTex film. Does not keep water off the footboard. In addition, the open straps collect snow, which later melts on the footboard. In addition, monot dries slowly. Good for day trips, but for hiking I recommend looking at other models.

Really nice shoes. The skiing feel is stiffer than the SNS BC with the mono-side combination, but on the other hand, when going downhill, these stand out to the advantage. There is still no idea about the durability when only a few tens of hours are left. However, the materials are such that the cobbler can bring the shoes back to life when the seam starts to rip, etc., and that's when he still remembers to take care of the shoes. Thanks to the stiffness, the monos can also break easier ice walls, e.g. with the help of hiking crampons, if a glacier pops up along the route;

Really comfortable and functional ski hiking boots!
I already bought other similar ones because the previous ones were a size smaller.
The size of the mono is therefore compact by European standards, I have foot size 37 (narrow) and the new monos are size 38.
I skied with the previous ones for many years, but in cold weather it's harder to put thicker socks underneath.
5-star overalls could only be better if they made them with a removable inner shoe (so that drying and ventilation in camp conditions would be better).

Good shoes for short trips! Fits better for narrow feat. Great control! Warm and comfy. For longer trips - to be used with gaters.

I was looking for a more rígido BC boot and this has completely fulfilled muy expectations. It is also very warm and comfortable

Used one time so far (5 Feb. 23km mountain back-country touring in deep snow) and performed very well, fortunately size matching my old Alpina NNN-BC 1550 :)

Very sturdy boots. Bit on the heavy side but really worth the money you pay for it. Concerning the size I have picked-up 43, while normal shoes are 42. But I already had other Alpine NNN BC boots (Outlander), so more or less knew the sizing. I use them for the Nordic skating with Zandstra skates and the set works together perfectly.

Snappy and well-supporting overalls that immediately felt good on the feet. I took a size bigger than usual so I can fit an extra sock if needed, but the mono doesn't feel too big thanks to the sturdiness. When walking in an icy yard, the sole did not hold at all. Already skied several runs and satisfied with the purchase.

Good sturdy and warm cross-country skiing mono. The size was according to the Nordic measurement, i.e. the 275 mm long leg fit well in size 43. The color is quite bright red, but darkened slightly with beeswax treatment. At the same time, the rough leather became a little smoother and perhaps better resistant to wear and moisture. The only small minus comes from the ribbon loops, where fabric ribbon has been used in one place instead of metal clips in the middle stages. They are difficult to use when tightening the straps and the durability is questionable.

These are the best bc xc boys out there. I've used the bcnnn and explore versions. They are simple and tough with no fabrics to wear or zippers to fail.

It fit my foot like a sock. The third winter is now going on and there are no wears and nothing to complain about.
The best back country ski boot I've owned.
They also dry quickly compared to the leather shoes of the old federation, which I especially appreciate in off-road conditions.

I ordered these boots from Canada. I borrowed a pair last year to do an 8 day traverse in Charlevoix Quebec. They provided a lot of support, warmth and control on the narrow and heavy snow descents. I liked them so much that I bought a pair a few weeks ago. As I could find nothing in Canada, I ordered from Varuste and hoped for the best that they would arrive. Much to my pleasant surprise, the boots arrived as promised 6 day later. These guys and their store is legit, so it you find something you like, do not hesitate to order.

Comfortable and light overalls. Still supportive. Red is always a plus! However, I would consider surface leather to be a more usable (water-repellent) surface material when moving on, for example, spring slushies than a soft-surfaced cowhide - even though it is GoreTex.

Great looking, comfortable boots down, and I,ve never had cold feet even in -30c weather. Only downside is they are a little weird to lace up.

very good comfortable BC boots for spring skiing

The size is small. I took 46 and the norm size 45 could not be up to 47. Save it from being so warm that no wool socks stick. But if you want to ski in severe frosts, then 2number bigger. The mono is warm enough to do well -15 if in motion. For a wide leg, I recommend taking 2 numbers bigger. Otherwise pleasant and even moderately supportive mono. No significant wear approx. 300km / 2y.

Super comfy boots (even to walk with the ankle lacing a bit more loose in the first few walks) and my usual shoe size fits perfectly. Recommend! :)

Boots are amazing! Fit well and they provide a lot of ankle support which will be awesome for the side hill tracking. Process of buying and receiving product was seamless despite being in Canada to purchase these boots.

I’ve never Nordic skied but my plan was to get into the sport and be able to ski both the groomed tracks and some back country using the same gear From the research I did the Alpina Alaska boots seemed like the best boot available so I purchased a pair I fit a size 9.5 US shoe and my boots in a euro size 43 were a perfect fit, snug but with enough room for a heavier sock if needed I immediately replaced the insoles with good quality, non custom fitted ones First day skiing ever for myself and the boots, they were excellent Very easy to ski in, both in and out of the groomed track Very supportive, and so comfortable that I forgot to take them off when I went to drive home, had to stop and switch them out for running shoes

Quite heavy and sturdy shoes, but support their place well in hiking / travel skating. Because of its weight, of course skating is slower, but it’s a matter of taste. Alaska itself is already really warm due to the thick padding, which means you don't necessarily have to reserve many layers of socks for the winter frosts. For myself, my feet sweat easily, and I had some doubts about the breathability of the film in this matter, but my feet and socks stayed dry with warmer on warmer days with every use, even though the man was all sweaty wet everywhere else.

Very good support for the ankle, in these boots the ankles do not crumble around and the ligaments do not tear no matter how you might slip the ski under and down. Warm, comfortable and good for the foot, your own shoe is size 38, 39 of these would be just a good size, and can fit in a warm sock if one is inside.
