I have been using these shoes every day for many years (with and without Gore-Tex / GTX), I am satisfied and buy them regularly. In my opinion, the additional charge for GTX is money well spent. The only disadvantage with this shoe in the past was the fiddly and insecure storage of the Quicklace quick lacing system - several times while mountain biking I got stuck with the Quicklace loop slipping out and tore it. The current (otherwise unchanged) design has been improved here. With the new design, the shoes deserve full marks.

Excellent shoes that I use for service (FDO). Very sturdy and comfortable. Quick Lace lacing is still just as effective. I usually wear a size 43 but in Salomon I take a size 44 (even the 43 1/3 is a little tight).

Same dimensions as XA PRO 3D. The bottom is way too slippery. Cannot be used in winter. Can skate even in summer on wet rock.

The third Salomon of the same model for me. They stand the test of time as clean, waterproof and odorless. Time is not very long in your own use. Good fit and easy wearing with quick straps will still make me buy these again and again.

I ordered these shoes to replace previous similar ones, which were used for 4 years, pretty much all year round except for midsummer. They withstand use, the film does its job and otherwise they feel pleasant on the feet. The quick release is also a great feature. I recommend.

The previous model worked better in my use, the new model has omitted the loop on the heel that makes it easier to put the shoe on, and changed the "pocket" for the laces so that it can no longer be used with one hand.

Really good and light shoes! Now I already bought the fourth pair. I have had them in daily use for several years. The shoe is available with a narrower shaft, so it supports my ankle well. I once liked "Reinos", which are not fancy shoes, but quick to slip on. These Salomon are also quick to slip on because of the good tightening system! Good grip on a slippery surface! A bit like wearing running shoes, but at the same time supports the ankle.

I used the previous generation shoe for several years. This new shoe is quite stiff, but it seems to soften a bit. The downside is the new shoe locking system. Before, the tape was wrapped from the bottom, and there were no problems with this. Now the ribbon (or rather "line") also passes through the ilti and the ribbon pocket is filled from top to bottom. The problem is that when the bands are tight, the band or ilt puts pressure on the bones.

This is a very good winter boot and perfect in wet weather. It has a pocket at the top to hide the laces.

Good afternoon I would attach photos if possible, that Salomon is a terrible brand that only makes shoes for photos. The shoelaces broke within three days. And this is careful wearing, one might say gentle use. Really great shoes! Like running shoes, but at the same time suitably sturdy.

Awesome, as expected. Been using these since they first appeared some years ago (and the regular XA before that), never disappointed; Salomon made them even better once they decided to upgrade the fabric (way more durable since the 2nd version) and incorporate the rubber shield in the inner side of the shoe. Whether with or without GTX, they're like just a heavy-duty, inconspicuous coloured version of your regular XA mids...

The shoe is suitable for year-round use. The groove on the sole provides a secure grip for e.g. climbing ladders. To the city, to the cottage, boating, walking and anywhere! The bottom wears out before it falls apart otherwise!

Another pair of similar shoes, because they are very comfortable to wear and the step feel is excellent. The previous shoes lasted about 2.5 years and were worn almost daily for long periods of time. The Gore-tex membrane withstands basic water rain well, you should still try to avoid larger puddles. Guaranteed shoe for hiking, walking, work or just for free time. The mid shaft makes this model easy to use in many different situations. Strong recommendation!

Salomon has changed the sole from green to black... spontaneously these are my favorite shoes, but the new version feels stiffer and a bit clumsier somehow. The "old" ones had a green sole and were super duper. Time will tell if these become softer with time... miss that the sole is not green when I have to hide in the forest... but but...

I made in these boots some 200 km. City and field. I would just replace this quick lace system to regular shoe laces. But the eyelets are so small!

Good quality. Maybe a little softer than the previous versions and better suited to the foot than the previously bought ones of the same model. This is my fourth pair of Salomon, have mostly used the low XA PROs in the service, but also had a pair of 4D Quest and a pair of XA PRO Mid in GTX. Absolutely think they are worth every penny, work well in all types of weather and are light and well ventilated while keeping me from freezing. The only minus is that it is a heavily cropped toe box, so if you have wider feet or wide between the toes, it can really hurt after a long day in the boots.

Very comfortable to wear all day. On a rainy day, the feet stay dry and are not slippery inside when wet. The material at the tip of the shoes seems very durable and they don't give way, as in the old model, the material always fell apart at the fold of the toes.

4/5 stars, because you can't say anything about long-term durability based on a couple of weeks of use. Given Salomon's quality, the shoes are likely to withstand a lot of heavy use. The shoes have a rigid (not a running shoe) sole, which you should consider when buying. The stiffness is not quite at hiking boot level, but still clearly stiffer than I expected.

Well-fitting shoes that continue the series of good mid-height Salomon shoes. A good quick-tightening system instead of straps.

The newer Salomon XA are more stiff than the pre-2020 ones, decreasing comfort, which was the reason I liked Salomon for. We'll see how these perform over time.

Supports the ankle well, even though the stem is not incredibly long.

The quality of this product is good overall, the fit of the boots is quite narrow however, so keep that in mind if you have wide feet. Only negative really (and it's not necessarily a negative), is the quick lace system. The mechanism appears to come loose, however that could be simply be the boots molding to my feet as I wear them in (comment based on approx. 20km usage). The lace mechanism doesn't look like it will last the life of the boots, but time will tell. A conventional lace system is probably a more reliable answer, so take that into consideration before purchasing.

Bought for my son in inti, after getting bad marching fractures in both foot tables with inti shoes in the spring. Now the place of service had changed so that you could wear your own shoes in the service. The boy has been really satisfied with the shoes. There were no abrasions during the last march and there were no symptoms from the previous march fractures. I hear 10+ ratings for the shoes.

I bought a pair of Quest quads with the idea of using these more in the city and in warmer weather. At first I started to rub the sun from here as I walked, but in three weeks it has welded well to my feet. Able to jog and once tested even in football arenas. The only downside is the strips that feel a little loose in use.

Great shoes! Although myself have a slightly wider leg and normally a 43 size is ok so of these 44 would be appropriate and snug. Walking takes shape well. Tightening works. You might have to buy a slightly higher model when you can get a little sand and crumbs on the back of the shoe if the day is frolicking in the terrain because the ankle doesn’t rise very up that border. But that's just a matter of choice.

Very comfortable and seemingly robust, if just a tiny bit on the heavy side. Surprisingly big ankle support for "Mid".

I haven't done a torture test on these ones, but so far they look very tough, with the reinforcements in the right places. They are also very comfortable and I love the lace system, very easy to use and keep the tension in place.

Good basic shoes for general work use. These should always be purchased every few years, but only in new pairs.

The boots are very comfortable, like all of the Salomon shoes. It's a special shoe because of the total color "black". I use it in the winter season for hiking and walking and I'm happy with it still after 2 month use. The boots are dry and warm. The only thing which could be improve is that the tighten strings doesn't work always, means sometimes I must tighten the boots again.

Already other XA mids, but heavier and stiffer model than previous ones. For example, for rope landing, the substitutes are on the inner edge and the surface mat is more suede than the previous technical mat. The original idea of just a little more high-heeled sneakers in black for official use has thus been completely forgotten, as these no longer have the lightness, "speed" and comfort that the standard model has. Otherwise good shoes and definitely a more durable material.

If some shoes should be chosen for the rest of your life, then probably these. Currently, others such a round. Highly resistant to use and water.
