It's beginning to look a lot like spring!
Greetings from Helsinki. The temperatures are rising and this means that the ice cover is quickly melting from the Baltic Sea and our lakes in the Southern part of the country. This aspiring open water season calls for fun water activities. We have gathered here on our newsletter our newest selection of SUP boards, and because of the ridicilously cold water at the moment we would also like to talk about suitable dry - /rescue suits for safety reasons designed for various water sports.
Inflatable SUP -boards
Inflatable SUP -boards are handy as they can be quite conveniently moved from one place to another. The best boards are made of very durable, double layer plastic materials so that they can deal with high enough pressure to ensure the stiffness and stability of the board.
We recommend that 15 PSI should be the minimum pressure where to inflate so that the board is properly stable. Almost all of the boards we sell can handle a maximun inflating pressure of 25 PSI. The optimum pressure where to inflate is somewhere between 18-20 PSI to ensure the best SUP experience.
Allround SUP
These boards are stable and steady. They are versatile regarding use: suitable for your lakeside cottage for the whole family or for nice day trips in standard conditions. These can also be used for SUP yoga or other fitness exercises. Paddling around is itself very good for developing your core strenghth.

Touring SUPs are slighty longer and leaner than the Allround SUPs. Touring SUPs are especially designed for longer trips and they can carry quite a heavy load of supplies. The deck has enough room to fit a weekend's or a week's gear - depending on what you are planning to carry along.
The Ursuit® MPS suit is suitable for all kinds of boating, fishing, paddling and for example nordic skating and snow surfing on ice.
The suits double seams are made so that the seam will not open even when worn. Inside the seams are heat seal taped and reinforced to be 100 % watertight.
The idea of the suit is to have a base layer below the suit and have the outdoor clothing of your choice on top of the suit. In case you should unexpectedly be water-bourne your skin will not take contact with water and the base layer (or what you have chosen to wear under the dry suit) will act as insulation together with air and create also a fair amount of buoyancy. You should always still wear a life vest with a rescue suit to stay on the safer side.
A more robust option for the MPS suit is Ursuit's legendary Sea Horse.
ALL RESCUE- /IMMERSION SUITS
Choosing a floating device for paddling you should seek features like good fitting so that you can effortlessly move your limbs and turn your head. If you are planning to wear a buoyancy vest on top of an rescue-/ immersion suit or other thick clothing take that in mind when choosing the right size.
