It's OK, but the zipper on the palm side (even when closed) causes very noticeable heat leakage in really cold weather, so despite their plush appearance, they're not quite as warm as you might expect. A traditional thick leather glove over a thinner glove is a warmer and perhaps eventually also a more functional solution for cold weather from the point of view of quickly exposing the trigger finger.

Tested in Lapland on a yacht in -16 conditions. Works well when you have good wrist loops and separate, these include, mittens good when it's time to handle weapons

Warm, comfortable and functional, a little awkward with your thumb to get the lock away.
