Top class like all Savotta's products I have tried. Works well together with 2 side pouches 8L, 2 horizontal pockets M and a hatka 12L and sleeping mat, even if it gets a little heavy in the back. Then it was upgraded to 64 litres. Good to know is that the straps are too short to attach the sleeping pad under the backpack as you can do on the Jääkäri L, but you can attach it behind instead. The only thing I can complain about is that you can't remove the waist belt.

I already had Jääkäri S and Jääkäri XL. Both great backpacks, but I noticed during my trips that for a trip longer than a day, the S had to be packed completely (and put on the outside with the straps) and for a couple of days' trips, the XL sometimes had empty space. Jääkäri M complements the options nicely.
The M has a hip belt (which the S does not have) which is naturally very good.
I also bought a Savota aluminum frame for the Jääkäri M (which I think should be part of the backpack automatically) because it adds sturdiness to the backpack, making it a little bulky.
Jääkäri M is a well thought out backpack.

A good backpack, but Savota's products are a bit harsh considering how much they cost.
The straps are rather unpadded and awkward, the seams on the inside of the backpack are not bound, etc., etc.
From many other brands, you can get much more finished products with much more features for the same money.

A great backpack that is perfect for hunting. I bought it for hunting and it works. The rucksack is easy to pack and I can pack and take out the belongings well. Molle pockets are an excellent accessory for storing items that need to be taken quickly. The backpack is very good to carry on the back, sturdy as well. The material is high-quality and durable. I can only recommend. Yes, and a backpack of just the right size for your purposes and especially for hunting.

Excellent daypack, using this for hiking in the mountains and rough terrain. I went with this rather than a standard hiking backpack for its durability and reliability. Quality is superb with strong and durable zippers and buckles. Zide zipper is an excellent feature. Tough cordura fabric and plenty of PALS webbing to attach pouches etc. This will last many years.

Watched a lot of reviews and videos on YouTube before buying this bag so I was pretty confident spending this amount of money on a bag. All I can say is I am very happy, I use the bag for bushcraft overnighters and it’s amazing how much you can cram into it! I think with the extension side pouches I may even be able to use this bag through winter. Very happy!

Fantastically comfortable, practical with the zipper on the side of the main compartment. Some have complained about thin shoulder strap padding, but I'm not feeling it. Especially not when I have other equipment on my body. Then it is rather an advantage. However, what bothers me immensely is that the text on your website says: In its size category, the Savotta Jääkäri M is a robust backpack to carry, and the inner support frame keeps the Jääkäri M firmly in shape. BUT, it does not include this frame!! Very annoying and misleading.

Lovely rucksack; it's well made, rugged and built to last. Easily customisable to expand on the basic 30L capacity. The product is expensive, but given the quality, I expect it to last. The shoulder straps need padding as a heavier load will start to feel uncomfortable after a time. A great backpack and I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Very high-quality backpack! It was really comfortable on my back and fits well. It looks really durable (I hope it will last) and in black I think it looks quite decent. Attaching the front pocket took a bit of wondering, but in the end it worked. The downside is the price and the fact that the aluminum frame is not included in this price. Of course, I know that Finnish and Estonian work costs money. With this experience, I can definitely recommend it!

The structure is sturdy, the backpack is easy to carry even with a heavy load. Probably the best carry-on bag currently on the market. Going to Europe for a week with this backpack. It would be good for the manufacturer to introduce red or blue, a color suitable for a wider audience. The current color options are all very militaristic, including my own brown version.

About a hundred kilometers traveled. Some running and some walking. The extensions have found their place. No sloshing or rattling even when running fully packed. I also recommend the Aluminum frame. I myself bought afterwards and it was worth it.

After trying out this awesome backpack for myself, I had to buy a 2nd one for a friend, as a gift.

Overall a good bag. Very robust and comfortable to wear with winter clothing. The biggest minus is the non-adjustable shoulder belt - for me it already fits well and is very comfortable, but this is not okay on a backpack that costs over SEK 2000.
The shoulder straps are not very comfortable as they lack padding, not a huge problem if it is winter and you have thick clothes or fix additional padding. These have molle-like straps on them, but they are the wrong way around so can't easily be used to attach stuff.
It has a practical laptop compartment that can hold a little anything, but the top lid compartment is much smaller than, for example, the one on Stridssäck 2000.
A good bag if you want something a little stronger and more adaptable than an Osprey or similar and are not big on comfort.

Very good, but with the M size side pockets, I think the combination becomes too wide. It would be better to put the pockets in the backpack where the pockets of a traditional backpack are, but the side zipper takes one of the molle fastening columns and both M size pockets don't fit properly, so I put the other smaller pockets in the back.
The downside is that when it was new, the backpack rustled a lot when moving in the forest, but over time the rustling decreased. Probably a matter of taste, a side zipper that takes one mole, I don't think there should be a zipper. A lot of hanging straps that can get caught and require the straps to be positioned so they don't hang. The lap belt is often wide and the buckles get stuck between the car doors. It is said that the hip belt can be fastened somehow, but I haven't figured out how yet.. Very good adjustments and a comfortable feel.

A large and durable backpack. If you take into account the long zipper on the side when packing, then grabbing things through the zipper during the trip is handy. The elastic pockets on the outside of the backpack's sides are a bit pointless and I only store the backpack's rain cover there.

Overall rating |
Guaranteed Savotta backpack/bag quality. If the backpack needs to withstand being dropped in the forest, looking for a soft and dry place to land, this is a sure choice. Good adjustments and the back goes smoothly regardless of the amount of load. However, the size marking M means that the backpack is a smaller size class. Only when all the space is used effectively would I say that the backpack is of medium size. On the other hand, I usually do quite short trips, so even large ranges may seem smaller than on longer trips. So let M be M anyway!

What else can I say? This bag is tough! Great size and the MOLLE allows for many additional pouches/bags/accessories that extend the bag.

Many types of backpacks have been carried while searching for the right one. Now it has been found, the Jääkäri M-backpack is perfect! The backpack seems simple, and it is. Immaculate design, very strong manufacturing material and ingenious details - that's what this backpack is made of. The carrying system works excellently well for my back, the fit is good e.g. just right because of the shaped thongs.
With the help of the side pockets, you can get more space in the backpack, and still the backpack remains reasonably narrow, so moving in the forest with it is still very smooth. I couldn't think of a better backpack for weekend hikes, etc.

An excellent backpack. Its frame is very stable for the size of the backpack when compared to similar products of more conventional outdoor suppliers (i.e. Osprey, Deuter). That's especially noteworthy when it comes to heavy loads, even when badly stored. The bottom of the backpack does not sag in these cases because of the robust material and build. The straps around the backpack and the single compartment (with side-zipper) make the Jääkäri M very versatile, as noted by nearly every other comment on the thing here. Due to the floating lid for the main compartment and the rectangular structure, you also get the most out of the 30 liters volume. The Jääkäri M is an excellent product, which I am gladly using in everyday life, on the bicycle and while hiking. I can absolutely recommend it. It's carrying system is fixed, though. If that one-size does not fit you, the backpack won't work well for you. But it does work well for me despite not being a perfect fit.

I am happy with this purchase. Inaugurated during a 4-day journey. It is the first backpack that I feel part of my body in any movement. Functional and very resistant material.
A detail missing for me and I'm used to is the presence of an external pocket on the top closure.
At full load you feel the lack of padding in the shoulder straps.
However, it is a backpack that I would recommend in this M size :-)

Really impressed with the quality of the pack, I love the quick access side zipper and the endless molle/pals attachment points, the only things I'd change on the pack are the side pockets could be a little deeper, and a quick access zippered pocket on the top of the lid you could access without taking the pack off. Also a bit more padding on the sholder pads would be nice, the pack is still comfortable for light hikes but if you need to pack more, possibly for an overnighter it can be pretty rough. Overall this is an excellent pack and I highly recommend it.

Haven't gotten along to testing it properly in outdoors/hiking scenarios, but have used it daily for work and city travel. Having a hip belt on a normal sized backpack has really been a gamechanger when it comes to bringing along lots of stuff comfortably, in situations where a big ass hiking backpack isn't suitable. The backplate also helps a lot as it keeps the comfortable shape along my back even when the load doesn't fill the backpack evenly, It looking cool as hell with the Finish camo pattern also is a big plus when everyone else are using boring mono-color backpacks. Only complaint so far is the tightening button/knob thing for the opening is a bit finicky if you don't grab it properly. My suggestion here would be a tightening button that's shorter in height, but wider so you get more surface area for you fingers to hold and press on.

Over all pretty pleased with the pack. A few things I would change would be to add a water bladder hose clip on the strap I was able to find a few on Amazon cheep so not the end of the world, maybe a few more small compartments on the inside like they do on the top of the bag and add two strap organizers to the shoulder strap adjustments, they have them for the straps on the side idk why they don't have them there I was able to fix that with a bit of duck tape. Overall though the material feels really good I don't see the bag tearing apart any time soon and it's an extremely comfortable bag, I really like how the bag Is expandable when you need to fit more in it, I wouldn't be surprised if you could fit 40L worth of stuff in here. I also like the fact that it has molle webbi everywhere making it easy to add specialty pouches like med kits, j also like that there are places to store places to store your tent or sleeping role. , I suspect this bag will hold up to the test of time and serve me well on many of my adventures

Well you have found it, comfortable for days of prolonged trekking and capable of carrying the necessary for a couple of days with the possibility of expanding the capacity through the external straps, the weight is distributed well, especially if you use the belt at the waist. If what scares is the price, well I can assure you that for the quality of the materials and finishes, also thanks to the simplicity in the design, I believe that I will never change my backpack again. Highly recommended.

Very handy, eternal backpack. Protean; is convenient when you can remove any extra pockets for day trips. Different moral cues can also make a backpack quite fun-looking. The zipper on the side is awesome, even though I wondered if it could have been all the way up so that the whole backpack could be fully opened. The ergonomics of the backpack are very good for me at least and it can move on the back almost as easily as without the backpack. I am very satisfied!

This is an absolutely great backpack. I also have a smaller version for everyday use, but if more stuff is needed, this one leaves. The zipper that opened from the side was the thing I was looking for. It’s easier to dig things when you don’t have to tear everything out of your mouth to finally find those dry socks, etc. Loose pockets are easy to change from one backpack to another when needed.
A little pricey, but probably will last for the future, so I don’t think it’s too bad after all.

Fits well with rattles and excellent adjustments. On the plus side of the possibility of overpacking, a sweater, towel or jacket can be easily packed under the flap. The only downside comes from the fact that if there is a little stuff involved then when reaching for the top, the backpack may be a little too deep. However, the side zipper solves this problem. The little slings pack well in a loose pocket that can be attached to a backpack in Savota or why not from another manufacturer.

The purchase decision was hampered by the size of the backpack, which I feared for a couple of years. When jumping in the store, the backpack always felt unnecessarily big. When the backpack was finally on offer, I grabbed the opportunity. The backpack gets tightened with straps into a pretty tight package, so the large size doesn’t bother me too much, and my fear was perhaps a little exaggerated. I have previously used mainly haglöfs backpack, which itself is considered rigid backpack with frame from your back and your back is against the network of plastic. Compared to this, your back is on fire. In addition, the backpack does not have a (standard) rigid frame, but surprisingly sturdy this is the position. I have not yet packed more than 10 kg of mass in the backpack. I would also like extra pockets, I have to do something to attach to the loops.

I really like this backpack, it' sturdy and looks great. It's very easy to adjust to your own body type to fit like a glove and you can customize it in so many ways. I bought a Savotta horizontal pocket S to use it as a hip belt pocket and the size of the pocket is perfect for me, I can put my phone, passport, wallet, keys etc. without worrying that the pocket is too small (like most of the standard hiking backpacks hip belt pockets), it's also not too big to look weird. I plan to use this backpack for 1 day hiking trips and for city trips. I think the size is perfect to put jackets in, a thermos, cups, blanket, food, two ultralight chairs, strap a tent and sleeping bag if needed. What I like about it is that it's flexible, it has enough room to use it for 1-3 day hikes but you can also use it as a day pack when visiting a city without looking too big. The fact that you can attach a hip belt pocket, a bottle pocket makes all the difference for me. My wife has scoliosis so I do all the carrying when going somewhere. Sometimes it can be a pain using a regular backpack (I have a cammelback for day trips). Because I don't use the hydration bladder inside the city, we have to stop every now and then to take out the bottle of water, take out/put in a jacket, take out the wallet, etc. With the Jaakari M I added a hip pocket for quick access to phone, wallet, keys etc., a bottle pouch so I have the water at hand all the time (the side pockets are large enough for half a liter bottle of water but I wanted an extra pouch so I can attach it to the shoulder strap when going for longer hikes or in case I want to use a larger bottle of water) and a Savotta Vertical Pocket L on the front of the backpack so that my wife can put her jacket in/take it out without having to stop and open the main compartment (you can use the side zipper just fine but I wanted the extra storage just in case). Two things you should consider: color of the backpack, mine is black and I think this will attract a lot of heat when walking in a hot summer day in a city but I can live with it, I think green or camo would draw too much attention in a city; the other thing are the straps, the hip belt straps are long, so are the shoulder straps and they will hang around not looking nice (I'm 183cm tall and 76kg in weight). What I did was to adjust the backpack to my liking and afterwards I folded the extra straps nicely and used thin black plastic zip ties lying around the house to secure them nicely -works perfectly. You can buy some strap holders or go to your local supermarket and buy some zip ties for 1 euro, they will not break and they look ok on the backpack. My zip ties are thin enough so that I can use one of my keys to cut them in case I need extra strap length (I always have the keys with me when leaving the house and I doubt I will need the extra length any time soon). I considered the Jaakari L for a long time but I think it would have been too big for my needs, for the price of a Jaakari L I bought: 1Jaakari M+1Savotta Horizontal Pocket S+1Savotta Vertical Pocket L+1Savotta Packing straps 100 cm (2 straps in a package)+2Mammut Wall Micro Oval Screw Gate carabiner+1bottle poch from MysteryRanch. In case I need more space in the future, I will buy the Jaakari L and use the accessories that I already have with that backpack. I think the backpack and the pouches from Savotta are great quality and you can't go wrong with it. Enjoy!

For whoever likes this kind of style it's absolutely perfect. Legendary. Love it and all Savotta products.
Was looking for a backpack (daysack) that I could use in the military as well as outside in public and decided on this one due to the 30 litre capacity, the excellent reputation of the company, use in the Finnish military and the olive green colour. I was looking at jayjays litefighter, berghaus munro or a camelbak, but I don't like to use a camo print in public and have always been impressed by savotta. Additionally, I feel that anything over 30 litres is too much and that the previously mentioned daysacks have a few features I don't like. In the military setting this daysack can be easily top flapped in your bergen and has a colour that blends in well with a temperate climate. It is very comfy and the build quality is the best I have seen. It is a bit expensive, especially if you import it from Finland and get charged import and tax fees, which I did. The only thing I don't like are the built-in pouches on the side, I feel they are too small and not secure enough, ideally I would like it to keep a water bottle there without having to secure with the quick release straps. I bought two medium vertical side pouches and a medium horizontal pouch to go with the daysack, but have not used them yet, maybe consider them if you are looking at this daysack. People have said to me to buy British, but I'd rather support a fantastic hardworking company than just buy something due to the location of the company. I am very pleased with my purchase and will continue to support savotta.
Really well made backpack with versatile packaging options. In fact, used this mainly as a daypack, but can also accommodate one-night outing goods. As a shopping backpack, you can spend less than twenty pounds shopping on your back comfortably. Has also served as a log bag at the cottage. Quality guaranteed Savot, is sure to withstand even harsher use.
My will be tomorrow. Hardly waiting for Malta overnight, the belt goes fishing with future pockets, a backpack packed in a daypack for a trip, a full day family daypack, a REALLY durable shopping bag, etc. can be better and more versatile. You can tie the camera tripod to the other side of the tripod or fishing pole, even if I have a wound. Definitely last.
