Just buying spare headlamps as Varuste doesn't ship the batteries "down under" :-(. Our 450 lumen units have been great and these look even more waterproof and adjustable.

The lamp has sufficient adjustments for light intensity. Red light also good. The battery has lasted well, but I haven't used it in the cold yet. It's a bit difficult to open the battery door itself and I haven't tested the lamp's waterproofness.

nice little and efficient lamp. battery life good. Minus the headband tightening buckle, which should be taped so it doesn't come loose. In addition, the locking of the back cover of the battery somehow felt a bit clumsy, although it still lasted well.

I bought the Petzel Actik Core because of its versatility. The power of the headlamp is wide from bright to red light. I especially appreciate the fact that when the battery charge is low, you can use the batteries if necessary. All in all, the Petzl Actik Core is gear for all kinds of activities in the dark and dusk.

A really good lamp and suitable levels of light output. The removable battery is a good addition and the included storage bag is handy. The only downside is that the lamp switch is a bit difficult to use with gloves on.

Three light outputs, the largest 600 lm, i.e. efficient, plus a red light. Battery as standard. You can choose whether to use a battery or batteries. When the battery runs out, you can switch to batteries if there is no charging option. This hybrid function was important to me.
