Put another way, the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any sleeping pad ever created. It is warmer, lighter and thicker than the previous model, which is why the XTherm NXT cements the legacy of being the go-to sleeping pad for alpinists, mountaineers and extreme cold expeditions. At 3-inches thick, with horizontal baffles, all-night comfort and support are at hand, while 70D nylon on the bottom ensures the XTherm NXT holds up to extended expedition use. The WingLock Valve allows for rapid inflation and deflation but is also intuitive and easy to use in frigid weather when the gloves are not coming off. — Show originalVery thick and comfortable mattress. Used on the ascent of Kilimanjaro in negative temperatures, it perfectly insulates from the cold coming from the ground.
Ideal weight and size for trekking. However, it lacks a little width once inflated (regular).
Easy-to-use inflation/deflation system. And the inflation bag is very useful.
The only negative point is that there is no gel pad to prevent the mattress from sliding when the floor is slightly sloping...| Overall rating |
— Show originalJust got to test it in the summer. Kept warm at around +3 °C at night quite comfortably. The structure is not the most comfortable, but it could be better. They advertise it as a winter mattress, which is why I bought this one, it's quite light and if it really survives in freezing temperatures, this might be the only one.
