Everything tastes better outside
We have arrived to the time period when the sun does not set down so much for a while. This is an inspiring time to plan mini hiking trips even on an after work -schedule, alongside longer weekend trips of course.

For a day trip - what to take with?
The recommended size of your backpack depends on the length of the trip and the amount of stuff (food!) you are taking with you. If you're going to practice a certain sport that requires separate equipment, then those must also fit on board.
Osprey's Talon is an iconic backpack series that particularly embodies anatomical and supportive carrying features. Talon is available in several different sizes: 18, 22, 33 and 44 liters. These 33- and 44-liter can already hold almost the sleeping bags of a over night summer trip, but carries comfortably the cooking equipment and other necessities for a day trip.

We live to eat
A trip without snacks is just a walk in the woods, I've heard someone more wiser saying. One way to approach a day trip is to grab a warm lunch from home and store it in a thermos until it's time for to eat.
By the way: have you come to think of that if the thermos keeps stuff warm, it also keeps it cold?
A good serving of ice cream in a thermos or a cool vegetable-/salad portion, etc., might taste quite fresh on a warm sunny day.
