After all, Ahkio is just a blank, which each user adjusts to suit their own needs. I personally preferred the rope pull, so I didn't even consider the pull handles at this stage. My tuning was largely based on Pata Degerman's YouTube instructions, albeit somewhat modified. Pate's videos also have good information about using a hiking pole. I ordered the RAB Pulk Bag Large, One Size bag as a companion for the bag, on top of which comes a semi-ready tunnel tent and a frost mat as a bag-sized block. The ERAPro-ahkio is an affordable start to winter hikes. It's not forever and the best, but definitely worth the price. In my use, however, it lasts for years. Actually, the only detail that I can think of so far where the manufacturer could improve is the implementation of the lifting handle that comes behind the box, or at least making suitable reinforcements already at the factory. The photo does not show the elastic part of the pull rope, which I placed close to the pole, so that it goes downhill when the pull rope becomes loose, immediately under the pole to restrain it from going. In the picture, there are still two separate bags before the RAB. With the RAB bag, the center of gravity of the load can be lowered. And if the conditions require it, the whole package is still wrapped with a Tyvek cover. The only real change I made to the original stick was by drilling four holes for attaching the rear end lifting handle.

Seems to be the only pulkens of this type still available in Europe. Globetrotter used to have them too. Our old Pulka did 4 really hard long tours in Norway and Sweden. No problems with this Pulka. Now we are traveling with more people and need a second one.

The material was softer than I expected, but it does not hinder use, on the contrary, it adapts better to the unevenness of the terrain. Have fun tinkering with this do-it-yourself box, there are plenty of instructions on the internet for modding.
